Resident shoots home invader | Crime

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A Jackson resident reportedly shot a man trying to break into his home Wednesday afternoon.

The resident called Jackson Police Wednesday around noon to report he thought he shot a man trying kick in his door in the 2200 block of Dogwood Lane off Raymond Road in South Jackson, said Officer Colendula Green with JPD.

Later in the afternoon, a man went to a Jackson hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. The man was still in the hospital Wednesday afternoon.

Green said the 18-year-old suspect could be charged with home invasion and attempted house burglary.
